Beyond using basic scuba equipment, you’ll want to have appropriate thermal protection for the open water location of your final dives. Your PADI Instructor and Southern Maryland Divers staff may suggest additional equipment depending on where your diving adventures take you.

Course fee includes use of a full face mask regulator setup and tanks for the course work. Students are responsible for appropriate thermal protection, basic gear (mask, fins, etc), and a BCD.
The PADI Full Face Mask class prepares you to dive with a full face mask. The course covers basic safety, technical and practical knowledge necessary to be a competent full face mask diver and feel comfortable using your system. You will participate in an academic session to learn the features of full face masks, gain familiarity with the system in the pool, and finish by demonstrating skills in the open water to gain your full face mask certification specialty card.
If you’re a PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver who is at least 12 years old, you can enroll in the Drift Diver specialty course.

Get credit! The first dive of this PADI Specialty Diver course may credit as an Adventure Dive toward your Advanced Open Water Diver certification – ask your instructor about earning credit.
